A 38-year-old man has died after a three-vehicle crash on the A68 near St Boswells in the Scottish Borders.

Police Scotland said the collision happened at about 9pm on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The A68 was closed overnight for collision investigation work before reopening at about 4.40am on Sunday, 13 September.

The crash involved a white Ford Transit, a green Suzuki SX4 and a white Honda ZR-V. The Ford Transit driver was taken to hospital, where he later died. His family has been informed.

The female driver of the Suzuki, 62, suffered serious injuries. The 66-year-old male driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said officers’ thoughts were with the dead man’s family at an extremely difficult time.

He appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who saw the white Ford Transit, green Suzuki SX4 or white Honda ZR-V before the collision, to contact officers. This includes drivers travelling in the area at the time who may not have seen the impact itself but may have dash-cam footage showing any of the vehicles beforehand.

People who have relevant information or footage are asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3354 of 12 September 2026.
