Ealing residents invited to join local Town Teams: key details
Ealing residents who want a direct say in local priorities can apply to join a Town Team before 11.45pm on Sunday 21 June 2026.
The volunteer groups are part of Your Voice, Your Town, a community-led initiative supported by Ealing Council. They bring residents, businesses, community and faith groups, and councillors together across the borough’s 7 towns to identify local issues and turn practical ideas into action.
There is no fee mentioned for applying. People can complete a short online form or request a paper copy by emailing afzalt@ealing.gov.uk.
Who can apply to join a Town Team
Town Team membership is aimed at people who care about their local area and want to help improve it. The council says the role is open both to residents already active in community work and to people who are just getting started.

Teams are intended to include a mix of local voices, including:
- residents with local knowledge and ideas
- community and faith groups
- local businesses
- councillors and council partners
Members are volunteers. The work is based on shared priorities rather than party politics, with teams meeting regularly to agree what needs attention in their area.
What Town Teams do in Ealing
Town Teams usually meet every month and work with council support to make improvements in their local area.

Their work can include planning activities and events, raising issues such as cleanliness or safety, supporting improvements to high streets and green spaces, and helping community projects move from discussion to delivery.
Funding can be used where needed to support local ideas, according to the council’s notice. The focus is on practical projects that residents can shape themselves, while still working with the council and other partners where action needs wider support.

Southall member says local pride drove him to join
Southall Town Team member Mathan Kumar said he became involved because he wanted to help improve the area where he has lived for more than 25 years.
“I’ve lived in Southall for over 25 years and really care about the area. Over time, I’ve seen things that I believe can and should be improved, and that’s motivated me to get involved. Your Voice, Your Town gives me a chance to work with others to make Southall a cleaner, better place for the whole community.”
Councillor Lauren Wall, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said Town Teams give residents a stronger role in shaping their areas and building local connections.
