Lewisham’s free post-results session on 20 August
Students considering their next move after receiving A-level or BTEC results can get free, impartial support in Lewisham on Thursday 20 August 2026. The Baseline team will be at the Civic Suite in Lewisham, London, from 10am to 2pm for an in-person post-results advice session.
The event is intended for young people weighing up university, apprenticeships, further education, training or employment. Attendance is free. Lewisham Council’s notice does not confirm whether advance booking is required, so students and families should email the Baseline team for event and entry details before attending.
A place to talk through the next move
Results day can bring excitement, relief and uncertainty, particularly when a student’s grades change the options they had expected to pursue. The session provides an opportunity to discuss the available routes directly with the Baseline team and consider more than one possible next step.
Baseline offers impartial guidance covering education, training and careers. Students can use the session to talk about what they want to do next, whether they are preparing for university, considering an apprenticeship, looking at further education or training, or thinking about their first job.
The event therefore has a broad focus rather than being limited to one route. That may be useful for students who have not yet made a firm decision, as well as those reassessing an earlier plan after seeing their results.
Cllr Rotimi Skyers, Lewisham’s Cabinet Member for Children, SEND, Youth Empowerment and Culture, congratulated students across the borough while acknowledging that some may not have received the results they hoped for. He said that “one set of results does not define your future” and directed young people towards the support available.

Support available beyond the Civic Suite session
Lewisham Council says young people can also speak to their school or college about their next steps. Baseline offers another source of guidance for those who want to explore education, training and career options with an impartial adviser.
Students still comparing different routes can also read about options beyond university after results, including apprenticeships, training and employment.
