Hull drivers face weeks of closures on key routes

Two triangular road construction signs stand on a paved street during city road work.

Hull drivers are being advised to check their routes as road closures, lane restrictions and temporary traffic signals affect streets across the city in August. Hull City Council’s update, dated 7 August, lists disruption on Anlaby Road, Ennerdale, Walker Street, Wincolmlee and several other routes.

The schedule is subject to change. Some works are responding to burst water mains and leaks, while others involve utility installations, resurfacing or council improvement schemes.

Routes requiring extra journey time

The full closures on Anlaby Road, Ennerdale, Walker Street, Wincolmlee and around Wawne Road roundabout are likely to require the greatest route changes. Drivers using Auckland Avenue, Chanterlands Avenue, Inglemire Lane, Marfleet Lane or Swanfield Road may instead encounter queues at temporary signals.

Hull drivers face weeks of closures on key routes

Several schemes overlap between 13 and 21 August, including work on Anlaby Road, Auckland Avenue, Inglemire Lane, Swanfield Road and Wawne Road. Travellers should allow additional time and reconsider routes that pass through more than one affected area.
