Brent residents are being urged to help a murder investigation after 15-year-old Jamal Ringrose died following a stabbing on Dudden Hill Lane.

The teenager was stabbed on Saturday and later passed away, prompting tributes from local leaders and renewed appeals from the Metropolitan Police for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police have asked people to call 101 and quote CAD 9258/30MAY. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Murder investigation on Dudden Hill Lane

The incident happened on Dudden Hill Lane, an area now at the centre of a murder investigation and a visible public-safety response from police and Brent Council.

The Metropolitan Police is continuing enquiries and has appealed for anyone who saw what happened, or who has information that could assist officers, to make contact. Even details that may appear minor can help investigators build a clearer timeline of the events around the stabbing.

Jamal Ringrose has been named by the council as the 15-year-old who died. His death has left family, friends and the wider community facing a period of grief, concern and questions about safety in the area.

Concern across the local community

Cllr Liz Dixon, Brent Council Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Public Health, said she was deeply saddened by Jamal’s death and offered condolences to his family, friends and everyone affected.

She said the council recognised that incidents of this kind cause significant concern locally, particularly for parents, young people and residents who use Dudden Hill Lane regularly.

The council said the Metropolitan Police has increased its presence in the area, with officers on the ground to provide reassurance and support. Brent Council has also installed more CCTV cameras nearby, citing wider concerns around anti-social behaviour and crime.

For residents, the immediate impact is both emotional and practical. The death of a teenager in a public place can unsettle daily routines, school journeys, local businesses and community spaces. The visible police response is intended to support people in the area while the investigation continues.

Police appeal for witnesses

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw suspicious activity, has dashcam or doorbell footage, or has heard information that may be relevant has been asked to contact police.

The reference number is CAD 9258/30MAY. People can call 101 and provide that reference to help officers connect the information with the correct investigation.

Those who do not want to speak directly to police can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers does not ask for personal details and information passed through the charity can still support police enquiries.

The appeal is aimed not only at people who were on Dudden Hill Lane at the time, but also at anyone who may have seen movements before or after the stabbing, including nearby streets, public transport routes or local shops.

Council response and public meeting

Brent Council said it is working closely with the Metropolitan Police and community partners to support residents and respond to concerns following the incident.

A public meeting will be held with representatives from the Metropolitan Police. Residents will be able to ask questions, raise concerns and hear from local services about the ongoing response.

Further details of the meeting are expected to be shared through local groups. The council has said violence has no place in local neighbourhoods and called for the community to support the investigation.

The next confirmed step for residents with information is to contact police on 101 quoting CAD 9258/30MAY, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
