Bedford residents face two local council proposals

Residents affected by proposed council changes in Kempston and Shortstown have until midday on Friday 11 September 2026 to submit their views.

Bedford Borough Council opened two Community Governance Review consultations on 4 August. One concerns the council boundary in Kempston, while the other considers the number of parish councillors serving Shortstown.

Both surveys close at midday on Friday 11 September 2026. Feedback submitted after that time may fall outside the stated consultation period.
