Adur Volunteering Week ended on Thursday 8 October with a celebration and networking event at The Shoreham Centre, bringing together volunteers, charities and community groups from across Lancing, Sompting, Shoreham, Southwick and Fishersgate.

Groups share support and opportunities

The event recognised the work of local volunteers and gave organisations a chance to share experiences, make connections and discuss what support they need. Volunteers also spoke about the help they can offer.

During the week, organisers promoted volunteering opportunities and events available to the community. Karen Macleod, chief executive of Adur Voluntary Action, spoke at the closing event about opportunities across Adur and stories from the week. A separate report on how Adur volunteers connect offers broader context on local groups receiving recognition.
