Wrexham AFC supporters will be able to leave their cars at Ruthin Road and travel to the Racecourse Ground for £1 return when the 2026/27 season begins on 22 August.

The park-and-ride service will operate for every home fixture, including league and cup matches. Parking at the Ruthin Road car park is free, with the £1 fare covering the bus journey to the ground and the return trip after the match.

Buses will start two hours before kick-off

Services will leave Ruthin Road every 20 minutes during the two hours before kick-off. After the final whistle, buses will run at 20-minute intervals for five journeys back to the car park.

Exact departure times will be published ahead of each Wrexham AFC home fixture, so supporters should check the match-specific timetable before travelling. The confirmed service details are:

Wrexham Council is continuing the arrangement with Arriva North West & Wales after operating the service during previous seasons. Councillor David A Bithell, the council’s deputy leader and lead member for environment, said it offered supporters an affordable and reliable alternative to searching for matchday parking.

Free parking provides an alternative to streets near the ground

The service is intended to reduce illegal, unsafe and inconsiderate parking around the Racecourse Ground. Supporters can also use city-centre car parks, but the Ruthin Road option combines free parking with a low-cost direct bus connection.

Fans who prefer not to drive can show their match ticket when buying a Wrexham Zone day ticket on participating bus routes. The stated match-ticket prices are £3 for adults and £2 for children, representing a saving of up to £2.60. Those tickets remain valid until 11.59pm on the day of travel, allowing passengers to stay in Wrexham city centre after the match.
