A family in Wishaw is renewing its appeal for information about Kevin Young, who has been missing for two years since he was last seen in the town.

Police Scotland said Kevin, 41, was last seen in the Glasgow Road area of Wishaw on Tuesday, 30 July 2024. Despite continued extensive searches and enquiries, no confirmed sightings have been reported since November 2024.

Kevin is originally from Dundee and was known to travel between Dundee and Wishaw by bus. Police said enquiries identified potential sightings up until November 2024, when he may have travelled to Dundee.

He is described as around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair. Officers said he was well known in both Wishaw, where he lived, and Dundee, which he regularly visited.

These links are central to the renewed appeal. Information may be relevant not only to Kevin’s last known location in Wishaw, but also to possible journeys between the two towns and any contact or sightings before he was reported missing.

Kevin’s brother said through Police Scotland that someone must know something about where Kevin is or where he was last seen. He urged anyone with information to contact police.

Inspector Jim Mutter, of Wishaw Police Station, said it was unusual for Kevin not to be in contact with his friends and family for such a long period. He appealed to anyone who may have information about Kevin’s disappearance, whether from before he was reported missing or since then, to speak to officers.

Police have also issued a direct appeal to Kevin, asking him to contact police or his family if he sees the appeal and is safe.
