The session is being held as part of Ealing Council’s work on a 10-year economic vision for Southall. The council says it wants feedback from people who use the town in different ways, including residents, local workers, students, businesses, shoppers and regular visitors.

The consultation covers what people like about Southall now, as well as what they would like to see change. Feedback will be used to shape proposals aimed at supporting local businesses, improving public spaces and making the area more welcoming.

Areas covered in the Southall survey

The survey looks at several parts of Southall where future changes could affect daily life, local trade and how people move through the town centre.

The main areas named by the council are the Broadway, The Green and Southall’s industrial areas. The consultation also considers the area around Southall Station and Merrick Road.

For people who use Southall regularly, that makes the survey more than a general town-centre exercise. It is asking about places where people shop, travel, work and spend time, and where small changes to streets, public spaces or business support could be felt directly.

Councillor Monica Hamidi, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for good growth, said Southall is “a vibrant and much-loved part” of the borough and that local people should help shape its future. She said the council wants ideas that can help build a plan reflecting the needs of residents, businesses and communities.

Help completing the consultation

Staff from Ealing Council’s regeneration, investment and jobs team will be at the Dominion Centre during the drop-in. They will be able to answer questions about the work and help people fill in the survey.

The online survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. It asks simple questions about what people like about Southall and what they would like to see change in future.

The survey is available in several languages, including Punjabi, Polish, Somali, Ukrainian, Tamil and Urdu. The deadline for online responses is 11.59pm on 5 July 2026.

Anyone with questions, or anyone who needs more information or help completing the survey, can email regeneration@ealing.gov.uk.
