Milton Keynes residents invited to free Get Together events

With final preparations made this week, The Great Get Together begins in Milton Keynes on Saturday 6 June with a free community session at Netherfield Meeting Place.

The events are free to attend, open to everyone and will run at community venues across Milton Keynes between June and November. Residents can drop in for refreshments and activities, meet neighbours, speak to council teams and partners, and ask for housing advice.

The series has been organised by the My Neighbourhoods Group, made up of council tenants and Milton Keynes City Council, to help residents get more involved in their local area.

First event starts at Netherfield Meeting Place

The opening event takes place on Saturday 6 June from 11am to 2pm at Netherfield Meeting Place, Farmborough, Netherfield, MK6 4HS.

The programme is aimed at residents across Milton Keynes who want to connect with neighbours, raise local issues with council teams, or find out how to take part in improving their neighbourhood.

Cabinet Member for Housing Cllr Ed Hume said the events are intended to strengthen the connection between residents and the council, giving people a chance to share views, access support and play a role in shaping their neighbourhoods.
