Milton Keynes pupils invited to design school safety banner: practical information

Milton Keynes primary school children are being invited to design a road safety banner for use outside school gates, with entries open until 5pm on Friday 12 June 2026.

The Park Smart Banner Competition is being run by Milton Keynes City Council with MKFM. It asks pupils to create a bright banner design that encourages safe and considerate parking during the school run.

Primary pupils across Milton Keynes can enter

The competition is open to all primary school children in Milton Keynes. Entries can be submitted through schools, or individually by parents and guardians.

Designs should be created inside the banner shape on the official template. The council is asking children to use bright colours and a clear message aimed at drivers parking near schools.

How families and schools can submit a design

Families and schools should download the template entry form from the council’s road safety page, complete the design in the banner outline, then submit it before the deadline.

Entries can be emailed to highways.liaison@milton-keynes.gov.uk or dropped off at the council’s Civic office, Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ.

Councillor Kerrie Bradburn, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said the banners would give young people a voice in reminding drivers to park safely and considerately around school gates.
