Haringey pupils seek help for Egypt enrichment trip

Haringey Learning Partnership has launched a fundraiser to help its Year 11 cohort take part in an overseas enrichment trip to Egypt.

The alternative provision hub, known as HLP, wants the journey to build on a programme of personal development and wider learning that has become part of its offer for pupils in the borough. The appeal is aimed at local residents and supporters who want to help make the trip possible for this year’s leavers.

HLP pupils hope to travel beyond Europe

The planned visit would take the group beyond Europe for the first time, following three years of overseas trips made possible through fundraising.

HLP first turned its ambition to take students abroad into reality in 2022. Since then, pupils have travelled to France in 2023, Spain in 2024 and Germany in 2025.

This year, the school community hopes Egypt can become the next destination for pupils preparing to finish Year 11.

Why the trip forms part of alternative provision

Alternative provision supports pupils whose education takes place outside mainstream school settings. In Haringey, the council describes HLP’s enrichment and personal development work as a key part of what makes the borough’s alternative provision distinctive.

For Year 11 pupils, an overseas trip can sit alongside exams, transition planning and the final months of compulsory schooling. The fundraiser frames the visit as a chance to broaden horizons before students move on to their next stage of education, training or work.

How local residents can help

People who want to support the appeal can donate through HLP’s JustGiving page. The campaign has been set up to help cover the costs of the proposed Egypt trip for the current Year 11 cohort.

The appeal is specifically linked to Haringey Learning Partnership pupils and this year’s planned enrichment visit.
