Residents in parts of Haringey may have difficulty making mobile calls or reaching council services because of a fault affecting an O2 mobile phone mast.

Haringey Council said in a public-service notice dated 15 August 2026 that O2 engineers were working to resolve the issue. Mobile coverage may remain intermittent while the repair work continues.

Current outage status in Haringey

The disruption affects O2 mobile coverage in parts of the borough, although the council has not identified specific neighbourhoods or given an estimated restoration time.

The confirmed position is:

Haringey phone disruption puts council calls at risk
  • O2 coverage may work intermittently in affected areas.
  • Calls to Haringey Council services may be disrupted.
  • O2 engineers are working on the affected mast.
  • No completion time has been announced.

Residents outside the affected areas may not experience the same problems, but the notice does not define the precise coverage boundary.

Online council contact remains available

Residents who cannot reach the council by phone can continue using its digital contact channels. Haringey Council has confirmed that email and online contact forms are working as usual.

No individual email addresses or form details were included in the outage notice. Residents should use the normal email address or online form for the council service they need to contact.

The phone disruption does not mean those online channels are unavailable. Using them may avoid repeated call attempts while O2 coverage remains unstable.

Vulnerable service users are receiving support

The Haringey Council emergency response team is working with council services to minimise the effects of the outage on vulnerable service users.

The notice does not specify which services are experiencing the greatest impact or describe a separate contact route for vulnerable residents. The confirmed response is being coordinated through the council’s services while the mobile network problem continues.

Engineers continue work on the affected mast

O2 engineers are responsible for resolving the mast issue, but no repair deadline has been provided. Until coverage is confirmed as stable, residents who encounter problems calling the council can use email or the relevant online contact form instead.
