Free Great Get Together events in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes residents have a run of free neighbourhood events to choose from this year, starting on Saturday 6 June at Netherfield Meeting Place and continuing across the city until Friday 27 November.

The Great Get Together is open to everyone, with refreshments, activities, housing advice and chances to speak directly with council teams and local partners. The events have been organised by the My Neighbourhoods Group, made up of council tenants and Milton Keynes City Council, to help residents connect with neighbours and get involved in local improvements.

The first event runs from 11am to 2pm at Netherfield Meeting Place, Farmborough, Netherfield, MK6 4HS. There is no entry charge.

Ten free dates across Milton Keynes

The programme moves through estates and community venues rather than staying in one central location. That means residents in Netherfield, Wolverton, Bletchley, Conniburrow, Woburn Sands, Bradville, Fishermead, Olney and Central Milton Keynes all have a nearby date in the schedule.

Refreshments, advice and local services

Each event is designed as a community drop-in rather than a formal meeting. Residents can meet neighbours, take part in activities and speak to council teams and partners about local issues.

Housing advice is specifically listed as one of the services available. The council also says residents will be able to find out how to get involved in improving their neighbourhood, giving the series a practical role beyond a social gathering.

For residents looking for other local support sessions, demoduck.co.uk has also covered a free Milton Keynes carers support event and separate Milton Keynes advice events on loan sharks.

Open to everyone, with no entry fee

Milton Keynes City Council says every Great Get Together event is free to attend and open to everyone. No booking details, transport information or accessibility arrangements were included in the published notice, so residents should plan around the listed date, time and venue for the event they want to attend.

Cllr Ed Hume, Cabinet Member for Housing, said the events are intended to strengthen the connection between residents and the council, giving people a way to share views, access support and take part in shaping their neighbourhoods.
