Detectives are asking anyone who knew Nicole Beling or has information about her final days to come forward as they investigate her unexplained death in Croydon.

Ms Beling, 60, was found dead at her home in Dittoncroft Close on Friday, 17 July. A 61-year-old man arrested twice during the subsequent enquiries remains on bail, and police have not reported that anyone has been charged.

The Metropolitan Police said in an appeal published on 8 August that no formal murder investigation had been launched. Specialist officers are keeping an open mind while the cause and circumstances of Ms Beling’s death remain under investigation.

Police were called at around 00:05 on 17 July after one of Ms Beling’s relatives reported her missing. She was classified as a high-risk missing person, prompting officers to attend her Dittoncroft Close home later that morning and conduct enquiries into her disappearance.

Officers discovered her body during a search of the property. She was pronounced dead at the scene and subsequently identified formally as Nicole Beling, a Croydon resident. Specialist officers are supporting her family.

A 61-year-old man was arrested at the property that day on suspicion of murder and later released under investigation. Police arrested him again on Saturday, 1 August, before releasing him on bail while enquiries continued.

The police appeal does not disclose what prompted the second arrest or provide further details about the evidence being examined.

Nicole Beling’s death remains unexplained
