Police Scotland is asking people in Glasgow to help trace 18-year-old Kofi Nyamekye, who has been reported missing from the Parkhead area. Officers say Kofi is vulnerable and that concern for his wellbeing is increasing as more time passes.

Anyone who has seen Kofi, or has information that could help establish where he is, is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 1498 of 14 August 2026.

Last seen on Friday morning

Kofi was last seen at about 11.10am on Friday, 14 August 2026. Police have identified Parkhead, in Glasgow, as the area from which he is missing. The appeal does not give a more precise location for that last sighting or say which direction he may have travelled.

The time and date are central to the appeal. People who were in Parkhead late on Friday morning, or who may have information relating to that period, are being asked to consider whether they saw someone matching Kofi’s description.

Description released by Police Scotland

Kofi is described as Black, 6ft 2in tall and of heavy build. He was 18 years old when the appeal was issued.

When he was last seen, he was wearing a blue jacket and blue trousers, with white trainers. Police said he also had a red hat and yellow sunglasses. The combination of blue clothing with the red hat and yellow sunglasses may provide the clearest visual reference for anyone trying to recall a sighting.

Concern for Kofi’s wellbeing

Inspector Amanda Love said officers were becoming increasingly concerned because Kofi is vulnerable and time has continued to pass since he was last seen.

“Kofi is vulnerable and as time passes we are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing,” she said.

No further information about the nature of his vulnerability was included in the appeal. Police have kept the request focused on locating him and gathering information that may help establish his whereabouts following the last reported sighting.

How to pass information to police

Anyone with a relevant sighting or information about Kofi’s whereabouts should contact Police Scotland through 101. Callers should quote incident number 1498 of 14 August 2026 so the information can be connected with the correct missing-person inquiry.

The appeal is directed to anyone who may have seen Kofi or knows where he is. The identifying details issued by police are: 18 years old, Black, 6ft 2in, heavy build, blue jacket, blue trousers, white trainers, red hat and yellow sunglasses.

Police Scotland’s requested next step remains the same: call 101 and quote incident 1498 of 14 August 2026.
