Clapham shooting victim named as police seek footage

Police have named the man killed in a shooting in Clapham as 25-year-old bus driver Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa, as detectives continue urgent enquiries and appeal for information.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service were called to reports of gunshots on Willington Road at 9.57pm on Monday, 10 August. Despite the efforts of first responders, Mr Bile-aka Amoa was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old man attended hospital with a gunshot wound shortly after the shooting. He was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, 11 August and remains in hospital under police guard, the Metropolitan Police said.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Mr Bile-aka Amoa worked as a bus driver. Detectives released his name while their investigation into the fatal shooting on Willington Road continues.

She appealed for anyone with information to come forward, including people who were nearby at the time, saw suspicious activity, or have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could help detectives reconstruct events.

Police are seeking material which may show the area around Willington Road before, during or after the reported gunshots. Footage does not need to show the shooting itself to be relevant: images of movements in the area or people who may have been present could help detectives piece together the sequence of events and identify potential witnesses.
