Trentham’s Staffy Trail returns for summer holidays
Eight Staffordshire Bull Terrier sculptures will form a temporary public art trail at Trentham Gardens from Saturday 1 August to 18 September 2026.
The Staffy Trail at Trentham Gardens is aimed at families, local residents and visitors looking for an outdoor activity during the school summer holidays. The sculptures are being brought together at Trentham after thousands of people followed the wider trail around Staffordshire.
Entry is available through Trentham Gardens, with early bird tickets offering a 15% saving when booked online two days in advance. Trentham members can visit for free. Tickets should be booked through the Trentham website.
Eight Staffy sculptures arrive at Trentham Gardens
The installation will feature eight Staffordshire Bull Terrier sculptures, each created as part of the Staffy Trail’s public art programme. The sculptures previously appeared in towns across the county during a ten-week trail that attracted visitors from outside Staffordshire and generated around £180,000 for the local economy.
A further sculpture, Outdoors Muddy Paws, designed by Lynne Hollingworth, has already found a permanent home in Trentham Shopping Village. It will be part of the wider Staffy experience for visitors to the estate.
Three of the sculptures will also be displayed with winning entries from the Staffy’s Tales creative writing competition. The selected stories are Lucy Goodman’s “What Sonney Means to Everyone”, Reef Boguslawski’s “Jasper” and Gemma-Louise Walsh’s “Beam Me Up Staffordshire”.
The competition was judged by Staffordshire Young Poet Laureate Pearl Knight-Dutton and Chloe Breeze, the artist behind the Sonney Staffy sculpture.

Dates, venue and booking details
The trail runs from 1 August until 18 September 2026 at Trentham Gardens, Trentham Estate, Stone Road, Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 8JG.
It is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council and Trentham Estate. The event is open to the general public and families, with the sculptures available to view throughout the confirmed trail period.

A second chance to see the county-wide trail
The Trentham display gives people who missed the original Staffordshire trail another opportunity to see several sculptures in one location. Staffordshire County Council said the earlier trail helped people discover different parts of the county, while Trentham Estate said the sculptures had been popular with both residents and tourists.
For anyone planning a visit, the confirmed next step is to book through the Trentham website early enough to qualify for the two-day advance ticket saving, or use a Trentham membership for free visits.
