£1 tickets support Sefton good causes

The new lottery has been set up as a weekly fundraising route for local voluntary, community and faith organisations across the borough. According to the council announcement, players pick the local cause they want to support before buying tickets.

For every £1 ticket sold, 60p will go to local VCF organisations and community initiatives. The aim is to provide unrestricted funding, meaning organisations can use the money to support the work they already do for residents, neighbourhoods and local services.

The draw is being promoted as a regular way for residents to contribute small amounts while keeping a chance of winning a prize. The source states there is a 1 in 50 chance of winning, and the top prize is up to £25,000.

Super Draw prizes include Sefton event tickets

Alongside the main lottery prizes, the launch will include a special Super Draw with tickets and vouchers linked to local events and venues.

The listed launch prizes include two general admission tickets for Billy Ocean at Salt and Tar on Thursday 13 August 2026, The Waterboys on Friday 14 August 2026, The Saw Doctors on Saturday 15 August 2026, and Nile Rogers & Chic on Monday 17 August 2026.

Other Super Draw prizes named by the council include two family tickets for four people to the Southport Air Show on either Saturday 29 August or Sunday 30 August, four tickets for the British Musical Fireworks Championship on Sunday 27 September, and a £40 voucher for Southport Market.

How residents can take part

Tickets are available through the Sefton Council website. Players are asked to choose the local cause they want to support, then buy as many £1 tickets as they want.

No physical venue has been listed, and the event brief identifies the draw as online. The source does not give a start time for the first weekly draw, so residents planning to enter should check the ticket page for live draw and entry details before buying.

Angela White, Chief Executive of Sefton CVS, said voluntary, community and faith organisations are at the heart of local communities and deliver support across Sefton every day. She said buying a ticket directly helps local good causes continue and grow their work.

Councillor Liz Dowd, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Partnership Engagement, said the lottery gives people a way to support projects that benefit local people and neighbourhoods while being in with a chance of winning a cash prize or tickets to events in Sefton this summer. Tickets are £1 per week per ticket.
