Scotland Fashion Now comes to Dundee, 3–6 September: what residents need to know
Eighty-three looks by 26 graduate designers will take to the catwalk when Scotland Fashion Now opens at V&A Dundee. The new four-day fashion festival runs from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2026 at the museum, 1 Riverside Esplanade, Dundee DD1 4EZ.

Graduate collections open the four-day programme
Scotland Fashion Now: Graduate Showcase ’26 begins the festival on 3 September with an hour-long catwalk show featuring work selected from four Scottish institutions: Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow School of Art, Gray’s School of Art and The Design School at Heriot-Watt University.
The 26 participating designers have produced collections shaped by subjects including inheritance, conflict, memory, natural landscapes and sustainability. Their 83 looks will be modelled by talent from Model Team, followed by a networking reception supported by Mulberry.
The scale of the showcase gives visitors a broad view of the disciplines being developed in Scotland’s fashion schools, from knitwear and tailoring to textiles and sustainable design. Mal James, Personal Chair of Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art, said the event would connect graduates with a wider industry network while highlighting the range of specialisms taught at the institution.
Designer talks and workshops move beyond the runway
On Friday 4 September, V&A Dundee will host a Designer Panel with the British Fashion Council. It will be the first event in the council’s National Designer Panel Series, developed with ELLE UK through the Fashion Britain programme. The session is intended to let audiences hear directly from people working in British fashion while focusing attention on Scotland’s creative community.
The wider festival programme examines the range of jobs required to build a fashion show and sustain the industry around it. Announced sessions include a hair-styling masterclass with an award-winning L’Oréal Professionnel stylist and a fashion communications workshop for emerging designers and founders led by SALAD Communications.
LS Productions will contribute a talk on alternative fashion careers. Model Team will also hold an open casting call as it searches for new modelling talent in Scotland’s North-East, while diversity campaign group I Am More Than will lead a panel discussion about representation on the runway.
A display of knitwear by graduates of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, part of the University of Dundee, adds a specifically local thread. The work will connect contemporary graduate practice with Dundee’s history of textile production and innovative knitwear.
A new annual platform for Scottish fashion
Scotland Fashion Now is planned as an annual programme bringing public audiences and the industry into the same venue. Troy Nelson, Creative Programmer at V&A Dundee, said the launch was designed to show both the breadth of skills supporting fashion and the role of Scotland’s art schools in developing new talent.
The festival follows V&A Dundee’s first fashion show, staged by Scotland Re:Design in 2021. It also sits alongside other Scottish fashion and textile events, including the returning Scotland Re:Design Scottish Fashion Festival and the Fife Arms Festival of Fashion in Braemar in November.
