Free Shakespeare and a seven-metre Sun
Nottingham Shakespeare Company’s touring production of The Tempest reaches the final two days of its run on Friday and Saturday. The free, unticketed show is being staged at various locations rather than one fixed venue.

Two family activities built around play and sound
Clumber Park’s Summer of Play divides its programme into six interactive areas. The Active Zone focuses on sports, while the Imagination, Nature, Loose Parts, Heritage and Toddler zones offer different forms of creative and outdoor play.
A new Pokémon zone, arranged around a straw-bale arena on the Front Field, has also been added. The activity is free with park admission and continues beyond this weekend, until 6 September.
Friday brings the weekend’s opportunity to explore prehistoric music at Creswell Crags. The Sounds of the Stone Age Cave Experience takes visitors into the deepest part of Robin Hood Cave to hear about instruments uncovered by archaeologists around the world—and to try being a Stone Age drummer.
The 30-minute experience costs £8 per person. It is intended for children aged five and over and their families, particularly those happy to make plenty of noise.
Saturday tastings among the vines and orchard
Wolds Wine Estate’s Saturday vineyard tour is the highest-priced selection at £25. Visitors are guided through the estate’s vineyard and cider orchard, stopping for an informal tasting of wines produced on the estate and its craft cider.
