Free Rugby business workshops open from 14 September
Rugby town centre businesses can join a free series of workshops beginning on Monday 14 September 2026 at the TSOS Unity Hub in Rugby Town Hall. The sessions are intended for owners and operators based in the town centre, with the timetable, survey and booking facility available at unity-hub.org/rugby-tce.
The workshops will give businesses space to describe their experiences and suggest practical changes. Rugby Borough Council says the feedback will help inform how it supports the town centre, while questions raised during the discussions will be passed to the council for officers to answer where appropriate.
Everyday town-centre issues are on the agenda
Businesses will be able to raise council services that affect daily trading, including street cleaning, safety and commercial waste. Events, activities and other issues affecting businesses and their customers may also form part of the discussion.
The sessions will additionally gather feedback on The Rugby Town website. Participants can also discuss what local government reorganisation could mean for the town centre, although the council announcement does not identify any proposed changes or outcomes. The workshops therefore provide an opportunity to raise questions and record business views rather than a presentation of a settled plan.
TSOS CIC will facilitate the conversations independently at its Unity Hub. Feedback and questions will then be reported to Rugby Borough Council, keeping the discussion between businesses and the council connected while separating the facilitation of the sessions from the authority receiving the findings.
Choose a sector session or a wider discussion
Some workshops will bring together businesses from similar sectors. The examples confirmed by the council include sessions for hair and beauty businesses and for pubs and bars. Owners and operators can check the published timetable to see whether a relevant sector workshop is available.

Two mixed-sector sessions are scheduled for Thursday 24 September. These are intended for businesses that cannot attend a relevant sector session or would prefer a broader conversation with operators from different parts of the town centre. The mixed format also gives businesses an alternative when their trade is not represented by one of the listed sector examples.
Council leader Louise Robinson said town-centre businesses understand Rugby’s opportunities and challenges and that their experiences should inform council support. Deputy leader Jerry Roodhouse encouraged businesses to complete the accompanying survey and reserve a workshop place, whether they want to discuss daily services, events or changes affecting local government.
