Free Christmas festivals bring music and fireworks to Broxbourne
Broxbourne Council’s free Christmas programme opens at Hoddesdon Town Centre on Sunday 29 November, with Hoddesdon Loves Christmas running from 10am to 6.30pm. The celebrations are open to the whole family and continue with school carols in Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross, followed by a festival at the Pavilions Shopping Centre on 5 December. All events are free to attend. The council’s events listing has further information.
Hoddesdon Loves Christmas starts the programme
The first event brings live performances by singers, dance groups, choirs and a brass band to Hoddesdon town centre. Families can also find Christmas stalls, festive food and drink, funfair rides and a snow globe photo experience during the day. A Christmas parade and fireworks display are scheduled to close the festival.
The programme gives visitors a choice of activities across the day, from performances and stalls to rides and the photo experience. The listed hours are 10am to 6.30pm on Sunday 29 November. Broxbourne Council is organising the event with Love Hoddesdon.

School carols in both towns on 2 and 4 December
The Festival of Carols features performances by local schools at two locations. In Hoddesdon, pupils will sing at Hoddesdon War Memorial on 2, 4 and 9 December, from 9.30am to 3pm. In Waltham Cross, schools will perform inside the Pavilions Shopping Centre on 2 and 4 December, also from 9.30am to 3pm.
The shared dates offer a choice of town and setting for daytime carols: an outdoor memorial venue in Hoddesdon or the shopping centre in Waltham Cross. The Hoddesdon performances include an additional date on 9 December.

Waltham Cross festival closes the programme
The Waltham Cross Christmas Festival takes place on Saturday 5 December, from 10am to 6pm, at the Pavilions Shopping Centre. Its programme includes live entertainment, Christmas stalls, a giant snow globe and a visit from Santa and his elves. Children can receive a free gift while stocks last.
The event is the programme’s final listed festival and brings the live entertainment and stalls to Waltham Cross. Families planning around the gift should note that availability is limited to stocks on the day.
