Fleetwood festival brings free food and family fun

Fleetwood will host its first Food, Fish and Music Festival from 14–16 August 2026, with free entry for all ages. Events will take place around Fleetwood Market, Adelaide Street, Custom House Lane Car Park and Victoria Street.

The festival is spread across several central Fleetwood locations. Fleetwood Market will feature more than 200 stalls, while Adelaide Street will host the Continental Market, Food Village and main stage. A historic Fleetwood tradition returns

One of the weekend’s headline moments will be the return of the Fish Queen or King Competition. The tradition was last held in 1939 and will be revived during the festival’s opening day.

Primary school-aged children are invited to take part in a sea-themed fancy dress parade. The Mayor of Wyre, Councillor Steven Nicholls, will attend the opening ceremony before crowning the competition winner.

The programme links the new festival to Fleetwood’s maritime past, with local seafood and fishing heritage forming a central part of the weekend. Food, music and family activities across the weekend

The CJ Jackson Seafood Theatre will feature live cooking demonstrations celebrating Fleetwood’s fishing heritage on Friday and Saturday. The Continental Market and Food Village will add food stalls and produce to the programme, alongside the more than 200 stalls at Fleetwood Market.

Live entertainment will be staged on Adelaide Street Main Stage. The listed programme includes The Deadbeats and The Flat Caps, while Coastal Radio will be on stage throughout the weekend and provide a live broadcast.

Families can also visit Silcock’s Giant Funfair, the Heritage Village and other community activities. The festival’s organisers describe the programme as family entertainment running across all three days.

Park and Ride is available from Affinity Lancashire

A free Park and Ride service will operate daily between Affinity Lancashire and Fleetwood Market, running from 10am to 6pm. This gives visitors an alternative way to reach the market area during the festival.
