Brentwood Family Fun Days bring four affordable outings

A group of children and adults sit on a grassy field watching a puppet show.

Families can choose from four Family Fun Days across Brentwood Borough between Friday 31 July and Friday 28 August. The programme opens at Seymour Field in Ingatestone, followed by events on Brentwood High Street, Hutton Road in Shenfield and Hutton Recreation Ground.

The opening event is aimed at children under 12 and requires a £5 wristband for unlimited activities. The two High Street events are free to enter without a wristband. Brentwood High Street’s event will run from 10am to 4pm.

Four dates across Brentwood and Shenfield

Date Location
Friday 31 July Seymour Field, Ingatestone, CM4 0HH
Wednesday 5 August Brentwood High Street
Wednesday 19 August Hutton Road, Shenfield
Friday 28 August Hutton Recreation Ground, CM13 1LP

Brentwood Borough Council and Brentwood Connected Business Improvement District are organising the summer programme. The four dates cover both park and High Street settings, giving families a choice between a paid wristband event in Ingatestone and free-entry dates in Brentwood and Shenfield.

What the Seymour Field wristband covers

The first Family Fun Day combines sports, rides and crafts with Punch and Judy shows and health and wellbeing workshops. A £5 wristband provides children under 12 with unlimited access to the main programme of activities.

Face painting and some additional attractions will carry a small extra charge. The council’s published information does not specify the amount, so families should distinguish those separately priced attractions from activities included with the wristband.

Free activities move onto the High Streets

The programme reaches Brentwood High Street on Wednesday 5 August before moving to Hutton Road in Shenfield on Wednesday 19 August. Neither High Street event requires a wristband, making both free-entry options during the school holidays.

Activities will be staged alongside local businesses, organisations and community groups. Visitors will also be able to buy food, drinks and gifts from businesses trading in the area, although individual products and prices are not listed.

The final date falls on Friday 28 August at Hutton Recreation Ground, shortly before the summer school holidays end. The published schedule confirms the location and postcode but does not provide a separate list of activities for that day.

What families should check before setting out

Only the Brentwood High Street date has a confirmed time in the source: 10am to 4pm. Start and finish times are not listed separately for Seymour Field, Hutton Road or Hutton Recreation Ground.

The announcement also does not provide transport, parking, accessibility or advance-booking arrangements. Families attending Seymour Field will need wristbands for unlimited activities, while visitors can enter the Brentwood and Shenfield High Street events without one.

The programme is supported by Razzamataz Theatre School Brentwood, Stagecoach Theatre School Brentwood and Mullis and Peake LLP. Dates, locations and the available entry details were published by Brentwood Borough Council News; families can use that council page to check the event information before travelling.
